BELIT is an independent coordination service that helps young people in Out‑of‑Home Care access the practical supports in their financial plans. We work with OOHC agencies, caseworkers and DCJ to organise driving lessons, technology, employment items, education materials, ID and admin support, and other independence‑building services.
BELIT supports young people by removing the barriers that make it hard to book appointments, organise purchases, or navigate systems. We make the process simple, fast and youth‑centred so young people get what they need, when they need it.

BELIT’s purpose is simple: to make sure young people get what they need to move forward confidently.
BELIT is the link between the young person, the caseworker, and the services they need to progress toward independence.
What BELIT does
BELIT supports young people in OOHC and leaving care by coordinating the practical items already included in their financial plans. This includes:
Driving lessons, hazard test, driving test
Laptop and phone procurement
Employment starter items
Education materials and course enrolments
ID, banking and MyGov setup
Other independence building supports
BELIT does not replace casework. It simply coordinates the practical tasks that young people often struggle to complete on their own, and that caseworkers may not have capacity to organise quickly.
How BELIT works
BELIT only provides services that are already approved in the young person’s financial plan. The process would be:
- OOHC agency identifies a need within the financial plan
- Agency refers the young person to BELIT
- BELIT coordinates the approved items
- BELIT invoices the OOHC agency
- The agency pays using the young person’s financial plan budget (or submits to DCJ for reimbursement, depending on internal process)
